behind…

For the past few days I have been a bit under the weather and so I really apologize for falling behind on my blogging. Also, over the past few weeks I’ve been a bit more timid about what to write on here for fear of accidentally offending. Hopefully I can get back into full swing again of blogging and letting people know about what is going on here and just having you join us in prayer for the ministry here. If anyone ever has any questions about anything written please just contact me and I would be more than happy to answer any questions you have. Thanks so much for all your prayers!

after school bowling….

Just wanted to give everyone a quick prayer request from us here at the Rec Center. Yesterday we met w/ Mr. Evans the local school system superintendent about starting a weekly after school bowling league where we would bring students out after school once a week to teach bowling and have a league where they compete against their classmates. Mr. Evans was really excited about this program and so we are moving forward w/ getting all the paper work ready and trying to figure out all the transportation details. Please be praying as all this comes together that this great opportunity would go smoothly and that this would be an awesome opportunity to impact our local youth for Christ!  I will keep you posted on details as they become available!

getting close

Well, we are officially beginning the baby could come any day now countdown. It really seems like it was forever ago that Erin and I found out that we were going to be expecting a bundle of joy. Yet, we are now down to what hopefully will be the final month or less of the pregnancy. Thankfully most of the baby’s room is ready to go. There are some decorating things, bedding, shades, and a few other things we need, but if Maeven were arrive today we would be ok.

I guess the biggest reality of it all that is slowly setting in is that I am going to be a daddy soon. It’s something I am very excited about and totally scared about too! However, I am doing the only thing I know I can do, which is spend lots of time in prayer, asking God for his help, cause I really don’t have a clue! Thankfully He is in total control!

truth…

This has been an interesting week to say the least. It has been a week of realizing being honest definitely is not always popular, yet still necessary. It’s been a week of seeing how sometimes relationships and friendship can change quickly. In all this though it has been a week of seeing God work and being there in the midst of struggles and trials. Ever since I was a little kid, my favorite Bible verse has been Hebrews 13:5, where we are promised that God will never leave us nor forsake us. I am so thankful that not only this week, but throughout my life God has shown this to be true! He is truly great and wonderful!

providing…

This weekend Erin and I got a little discouraged when we realized how soon our baby is coming and rather than our financial support growing like we thought it might w/ a baby, it has actually decreased. So as baby/doctor bills are piling up in front of us and our staff support account was decreasing…things looked scary. However after much prayer God has really began doing some amazing things through other people for us. Some gifts both financially and things we need for the baby have been coming in that we just hadn’t expected. He has worked in some great ways to provide for each need we have and we are just truly thankful!
