golf scramble preparations and sponsorships….

This afternoon I am making my foray out into Lee County to start trying to get local people and businesses to sponsor holes at our annual Golf Scramble on June 16th.  This is the largest fundraiser we do each year at the Rec Center and it greatly helps us as we head into the slower summer months at the Rec.   If you would like to help sponsor a hole for your business at the Rec Center Golf Scramble it it only costs $25 a hole.   With your sponsorship we advertise your business both at the hole you are sponsoring and also at the club house.   We also put all our sponsors in the local newspaper.   The scramble will be on June 16th at the Beattyville Country Club and we would love to have your support as a sponsor or a golfer!  If you can’t do either we will also be serving lunch from noon till 2 pm on a donation basis.   Hope to see you there!!!

last night’s FCA Leadership Camp Presentation Update…

Last night, our FCA students presented their desire to attend FCA Leadership Camp to Idamay Bible Church.  We entered the night about $500 short of being able to pay for all six students to attend camp.  Our students did a great job of presenting and I was very proud of them a I know how nerve wracking it has been over the past two weeks to stand up in churches and speak in front of so many people.   God truly blessed us and we received the $500 we need to take all six students to camp.  When you add that in with all the donations we have been given so far as well as a promised sponsorship our kids are ready to go to FCA Leadership Camp at Campbellsville University!

That being said, now comes the hard part.  Please pray for Erin and I as we are now trying to raise the needed $250 for our family to attend camp.  Just like the students we will be receiving training to lead our FCA huddles during the upcoming school year.  It is also just a great time of spiritual refreshment for us and we are taught and poured into spiritually through great messages and fellowship with others in full time sports ministry!   Please pray that God will provide this money and take that burden from us!

To all of you have already been praying for our students and also have given to our students, thank you!  I am confident that God is going to do great things in their life at camp this summer!

FCA leadership camp presentation reminder…

Just wanted to remind everyone that our FCA leadership camp students will be speaking tomorrow night at 7 pm at Idamay Bible Church. We still need to raise another $500 to pay all six of our students way to camp. If you can make it please come and also please pray that the remaining funds will come and whether or not you might be called to sponsor a student! Hope to see you there!

FCA Leadership Camp presentation…

Tonight at Bear Track Bible Church, which is located in the camp chapel at Youth Haven Bible Camp our FCA students and I will be sharing about the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Camp that will be taking place at Campbellsville University this summer. The students will be sharing about last year’s camp experience, the desire to go back this year, and how they want to be leaders for Christ at Lee County High School.  We still have 5 out of our 6 students who need sponsorship for camp this summer.  If you are free tonight come out to Bear Track Bible Church and at least hear what God is doing with our students!

FCA Leadership Camp Sponsorship Update…

Yesterday, we had our first fundraiser to start getting funds flowing to pay for our FCA Students to go to camp.  At our dessert auction we raised a little over $80 and are very thankful for everyone who bought desserts and made them for us to auction.   Also, last night we had a very generous person offer to sponsor one of our six students to go to camp!   Praise God!  We now only have to raise approximately $1,300 to cover all our costs for camp registration and travel.  If you would like to help us with the remaining funds, please let me know.  Also, if you know anyone who has a heart to see students become effective leaders for Christ and might be interested in being a sponsor, please tell them about our students or let us know so that we can speak with them.   Most of all pray for us that over the next month we will be able to raise the needed funds to take our 4 girls and 2 guys to camp!
