chaperones and sponsors….

In two weeks we will be having our annual Rec Center New Year’s Teen Lock In.   As usual I am trying to recruit chaperones to help us keep an eye on the 180 or so teens we are expecting to come to this outreach.  We need people to watch doors, keep couples separated, and to interact with the kids.   If you are able to help us with this please let me know.  We are looking for both all night helpers and even help that can stay part of the night.

Also, during this lock in we give away lots of prizes to the students and try to get local individuals and businesses to donate prizes and food to give to them.  Prizes generally range from gift certificates, to free oil changes, to tools and sunglasses.  Whatever you can do would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much and hope to see you there!!

Coming soon….

This week has been one crazy whirlwind that has kept me away from blogging. This weekend I promise to write and catch everyone up on life and ministry here in KY.

In the mean time please pray for club day at LCHS today. I will have the opportunity to share the Gospel with many students through two FCA huddles. We can’t wait to see how God is going to work!

plumbing problem update…

Well, after a very long day we are finally able to use our plumbing. About 5 tonight we were able to get things working properly after cutting the main drainage pipe to the septic tank and running an auger to open up the line. I temporarily put the pipe back together with a cuff and in the morning will seal the line back up for good.

The best news is that we are able to shower, flush, and just live normally in our home again. I am so thankful for everyone who helped us out today and tomorrow as well. I am definitely not gifted with being a handy man, but thankfully God blessed me with people in my life who are!

plumbing problems

Last night we discovered a bad plumbing problem of our sewage backing up and coming out in our basement bathroom. My dad came and helped us try to fix the issue last night but we were unable to get things going. So, since last night at about 9 pm we haven’t been able flush or shower which has made things interesting.

This morning though my dad, Scottie, and Steve came over and helped us use a big power snake to clean the lines out and use some liquid fire to clean out the rest of the lines. Now we are waiting for the stuff to work.

Please pray that our pipes will open up quickly and without having to spend a lot of money !
