Today we will be having our weekly after school Bible Study at Lee County High School. Please pray for us as we are talking with the students about the value of having friendships with the wise vs. fools. So many of our students often get drug into situations because they allowed themselves to fall into friendships and relationships that are unhealthy. Pray that maybe this study will get our student to make changes they need to with friendships that aren’t healthy as well as look at themselves to see whether or not they would be a friend that is considered wise or one that is a fool!

finally connected…
When we moved into our new house the other day it was a huge relief after weeks of wondering when and if we would sell the old house and when and if we would be able to close on our new home, and then wondering if we could get all the work done in time to move in when we wanted. God blessed and all things fell into place at just the right time. And with the help of several awesome friends we were able to move!
Since moving though I have been pretty disconnected with the world. Until today we were without both internet and tv. On Monday we were supposed to have the tv installed, but things went very awry. The installer called over an hour later than he was supposed to to let us know when he would arrive. By that time I had to head to the Rec Center leaving Erin to meet with him. He ended up showing up even later, being very incoherent, to the point Erin thought he might be high. He also complained that installing anything would be impossible without looking at the house. And the final straw was that he forgot all his tools and the right equipment and wanted Erin to lie to the company and tell that it was her fault that he couldn’t do the job so that they wouldn’t fire him.
Needless to say I called up DishNetwork and told them about the whole debacle and let them know that I didn’t want that guy or his installation company back in my home. Thankfully they were very apologetic and allowed me to call a local installer who did a great job installing everything today!
We also finally got our internet hooked up and so now we can keep up with the outside world. It feels good to have a lot of pressure off of us now and to be connected again. Thanks for all your prayers too throughout this whole process!!!
my sick little girl…
For the past couple of days my sweet Maeven has not been herself. She has been pretty fussy, tired, had a runny nose, and been playing with her ears a lot. We knew she might be getting an ear infection and were monitoring here well. Then yesterday afternoon she started feeling warm and sure enough had a temperature of 102.9 degrees. We gave her medicine to help bring the temperature down and help her feel better, but still this morning called in an appointment for her at the pediatric’s office.
I just spoke with Erin a little bit ago and sure enough Maeven has a pretty intense ear infection in her right ear. We feel blessed that this is only her first ear infection as we have many friends whose kids have had a lot more. And we are glad that the meds she was prescribed should help bring down her temperature.
The hard part is just that we usually have a very happy and very social little girl. Seeing her in pain and so fussy is just sad, because that is just not who she is. Hopefully though she will be back to her old self pretty soon. Please keep my sweet baby in your prayers!

missions conference update….
Today has been another busy day for us here at the MBI missions conference. I was able to give another seminar on using sports ministry to reach all ages. We also were blessed to get to talk to many students both in our sessions and at our display table about KMM’s various ministry opportunities.
Tonight we also had a great chapel services where songs and prayers were given in many many different languages. It was an awesome reminder of how we have brothers and sisters in Christ all around the world that we can praise God with and also pray for. It was also an awesome picture of how people from all nations will one day be praising God in Heaven!
This has been a great conference and while tomorrow we will wrap things up and head home, I am excited to see how Christ uses this conference in the lives of the students to impact their world for Him. And hopefully some will decided to have an impact for Christ with KMM!!!!
sooo good…
Tonight for the first time in a long time I was able to enjoy one of my favorite foods in the whole wide world…..Giordano’s stuffed pizza. While I know there are many great Chicago pizza places Giordanos has always been my favorite. Also, with out being overly nostalgic it just brings back a lot of good memories of my time in Chicago. Sorry to brag…but my dinner was delicious!
